Autonomous Cruise Control System - automatic speed control

When we have to drive the car for a long way on highway or somewhere, we should always pay enough attention to the other vehicles which are also running around you. For a short time, it's OK, but during 10 hours we have to do it, it sounds too miserable, right? Another scenario is in the city we have to be aware of our speed because of the speed limitation area changes itself so frequently. So we have to switch our speed level troublesomely. In my opinion it makes sense, because the main reason leading to an accident is the high speed. So the speed controlling or the distance keeping is quite necessary for the driving safety. The question is only just is it possible to avoid the bother? Naja, don't forget the car assistance system, the aim of its existence is to help the driver increase the safety and enjoy the driving more. Based on this requirement there must be one thing existed -- Autonomous Cruise Control System.

It is a system to automatically control the speed of an automobile. Actually before the cruise control system already appeared, but its function is just to maintain the same speed after the user's setting. It has nothing to do with the environment or other vehicles. While recently a so-called autonomous cruise control system appearing on some more upscale cars. Depending on the manufacturer, the name of this system could be different, but it is regarded as one of the key components for a future's smart car.
Above is a video of the working principle about the autonomous cruise control system. The system uses either laser or radar to detect the surrounding situations like the distance with the car in front of you, or the speed values something like this. Comparing with the radar system, the largest advantage of the laser system is lower price. But the detecting effect could be disturbed dramatically in adverse weather conditions and other vehicles' appearance condition. So for the true safety speed control, radar-based system is always recommended. And this better choice is actually already available on many luxury cars, e.g. Mercedes-Benz E-Class and S-Class. Below is a nice guy driving his Audi A4 with a ACC system demonstrates the function of ACC factually, although it seems a little dangerous. But ACC is there, whatever!!
